This story is supremely fucked up. (I wish CNN would use this as their lead every now and then.)
Six-year-old Elena Desserich was diagnosed with brain cancer. Her tumor became so enlarged that she lost the ability to speak, so she began to leave little notes around the house for her parents to find.
When she died in 2007, her parents found hundreds of the little love notes hidden around the house; everywhere–in CD cases, in books, in dresser drawers. The parents collected the messages and put them in a book to go along with the documentation of their daughter’s story.
This one of the notes:
This story was all over the news, and it was blogged about here. The horrible part is the comments section on the blog, where all my reasons for hating humanity are summed up in the acidic, cynical, heartless, joyless realm of anonymous commenting.
Look at some of these comments:
“Using a dead kid to sell a fiction book is pretty low down.”
“Neat “story”. That’s just what it is.. a story. Pure BS….From the time to die timeline to the end…. BS”
“I may have believed it if I hadn’t seen P.S. I Love You and I find it hard to believe a 6 yo would understand what was happening to her enough to leave “hundreds” of notes.”
And this is my favorite. Some backwoods, redneck motherfucker always has to bring it all home:
“All a scheme by the media. You probably read this and forget that the government put together the 9-11 attacks. “People are easier to control in groups” – Barack Obama”
Why would you take time out of your day to post a comment on a story about a six-year-old girl who died of brain cancer to blame 9-11 on the government?
Probably because you are this guy.
Fuck you, that guy. Fuck you America. Fuck you Earth.
I don’t understand why people are so set on saving this planet when its inhabitants are devolving into piles of shit.
